"L.A. MACABRE" (Season 2)

In March 2020, when the pandemic hit the Unites States, everything shut down. My calendar emptied out. When you're a freelance worker living on the road, that takes your housing and roots with you. So I decided to embark on an epic road trip and ambitious project: Document the shutting down of America. I've put the entire 3 week, 17 city, 8600 mile journey into a new documentary currently making the film festival circuit. The photos from my journey have been acquired by the Smithsonian Institution for their archives. It's their biggest acquisition of photographs from that unique time period.
Joel caught the acting bug early on when he first took classes at the Albuquerque Little Theatre. It was a half-written show about high schoolers going through "high school problems."  Joel was 11 playing a 15 year-old.  It was his first time really stretching as a character and he hasn't looked back.  From Children's Theatre with Rick Nickerson Studios and the New Mexico Young Actors to a BA in Theatre from Pepperdine University and beyond, the bug has nestled deep and never let go.
Joel has been blessed to enjoy success in a variety of entertainment mediums: Films both big ("The Heartbreak Kid," "Valkyrie," "Music Within") and small (a number of festival-award winning indie features and shorts), Television (with guest spots on "Monk," "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior," and "Revenge" among others), Theatre (including shows at the Texas Shakespeare Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and award-winning turns throughout Southern California) and Streaming Media (including being nominated as "Best Actor in a Dramatic Web Series" at the first ever Streamy Awards, winning Best Actor at the First Glance Film Festival and a win for Producing "Suck & Moan" as it took home Outstanding Dramedy Series at LA WebFest).

Look for these films and TV shows online, streaming, at a festival or in your local video store (if you still do that sort of thing...).
